Niagara Falls
We left Plymouth and headed north to New Hampshire. It was one of the places on my list of potential places I'd like to live. Mostly because I typed in a paragraph of my ideal living spot including cultural, sporting, nature, political, tax, etc, into google and it returned New Hampshire. So, I thought we better head there. We spent some time driving around and checking things out but I didn't take any pictures. It looked a lot like Connecticut - which I decided not to post the pictures of because we were at the beach and it just seemed like another beach scene...
When we left New Hampshire we decided we'd drive straight over to Niagara in one day. On the map it was about an inch and a half, and 550 miles. Our nav system said it would take 7 hours - but it took 13! A long drive and then we only stayed one night in Niagara - just long enough to visit the falls. We decided we would never do that again - drive an entire day and then head off somewhere else the next day - CRAZY...
Here are some of the pics from Niagara. We were amazed!!!!
The river leading up to the falls. Here there is a guardrail but all along the pathway there are stretches without the railing and notices saying not to swim.
We went on a boat to the base of the falls. This is part of the Canadian side. The boat is using it's engines to stay at the base of the falls because without them we would be pushed away with the current very quickly. There was a lot of moisture in the air from the falls and everyone wore ponchos.
The view from up top. Our feet and pants were soaking wet by this time. After the boat ride we walked to the base of the American side where we were pummeled with wave after wave of water. We couldn't take a picture as it would have ruined the camera.
We walked to the side of this falls. It was quite amazing in the quantity of water that is coming down and here the blue / green color is captured int the photo. It looked very cold.
