N. Carolina - The Outer Banks
The dreaded ferry ride out to the outerbanks from the mainland.
We had to take another ferry too. The ocean is only about 7 feet deep in most places on the westside of the banks so the ferry had to take a circuitous route that only the captain could discern.
The beautiful beaches at the outer banks...
There were turtle nesting sites cordoned off in several spots along the beach.
Hardly anyone here.
The boys picked up some skim boards at a fire sale and started perfecting their technique.
